Another day another book.

We’ve got a bit of a weird mix this time through, but honestly, I’m kind of into it. I felt like i was allllllmost on the verge of a book hangover, but alas, I persevered and here we are. This set of books got me through a work trip (oof), plane rides, and many emotional breakdowns, and for that I am grateful. Let’s get to it!

All Rhodes Lead Here by Mariana Zapata. Obviously Mariana Zapata is my therapist at this point. This was most definitely one of my favorites. We go on a journey with Aurora as she travels back to her childhood town to start a new life. She rents a room that belongs to the father and son Rhodes duo, and romantic interests most definitely bloom in the small town. I’m obsessed with Aurora, I’m obsessed with the town, and I’m obsessed with everyone with the last name Rhodes.

One by One by Ruth Ware. We love a good murder mystery. Honestly, my kink is the classic murder mystery dinner vibe. This book takes place at a stunning luxury chalet where a company goes on a team retreat. When a team member goes missing while skiing on the slopes, the story definitely takes a turn, quickly shifting to a whoddunit. This book was so good because I thought I knew who the killer was, but the author sets you up so fast that you have the entire book to question everything and everyone.

Shadow and Ember by Jennifer Armentrout. I was a bit nervous for this one because I was waiting for her fourth book in her Blood and Ash series, but didn’t know if I needed to read this one first since it was a spinoff. And then I realized I needed a refresher. A major refresher. So then I went on a journey of re-reading the first three books. I. Was. Exhausted. So when it came time to start this, I wasn’t super stoked. But that changed reallll fast. Honestly love this story between Nyktos and Seraphena. There are a lot of similarities between this and From Blood and Ash, but it didn’t bother me at all. I love a badass female protagonist.

The War of Two Queens by Jennifer Armentrout. I have to admit, coming right out of Shadow and Ember, I was missing those characters and almost wasn’t ready to say hey to Poppy right away. That flipped as soon as Armentrout sucked us back into her world. Now that we have two series going in the same world, I truly can’t wait for the next to come out. I’m torn between wanting to know everything and not wanting to say farewell to these characters quite yet.

Let me know if you’ve read/are reading any of these, would love to chat!

xoxo, Reb.
